The latest ads from fashion line, Theory are blowing my mind…..The ads are showcasing a trend that I have absolutely loved since watching and obsessing over the lead singer of Berlin in the 80’s with her half platinum and half black hair! (and I SO did this technique to my Barbie’s hair with a black Sharpie..and she looked so hot afterwards…even if she wasn’t worth a single penny because she was damaged…so started my hair career.)
Anyway…..the ads show a safer, softer version of this color and it is called reverse Ombre….For those of you who are unfamiliar with the non-reverse Ombre technique of coloring…well, here’s a very short description:
Ombre is the phenomenon that spun out control when someone saw the sexiness in letting their roots go for too long…..(think Drew Barrymore, Ashlee Simpson, Gisele) Well this “dark root/light ends” craze is getting a new spin and you can see it in the new Theory ads. Theory is a brand that spun out of great fitting, tailored pants. I’m definitely a Theory gal (and I know a great Ebay seller who has fabulous Theory pants at superb discounts) Basically if you see someone walking down the street with a gorgeous fitting blazer or sexy pants that look like they were made just for that person , chances are when you ask them they will answer “Oh, they’re Theory.”
So where am I going with this? Well, we have been embracing the reverse Ombre at La La Luxe (as well as the sexy, classic Ombre). We’re shooting for the stars with shades like caramel blending to a dark chocolate…..vanilla fading into deep toffee…..or platinum blonde cascading into jet black as seen in the Theory ads. If you’re ready for something a little more playful with your color, then come on in!
